Yep. And he sure was convinced that was the only way. So much that he threw a little hissy fit when Chris came up with an alternative within a minute. He's pretty pissed at me too, but I'm kinda hard pressed to care about that.

Unsurprisingly, Chris was pretty upset about all this.

[ Lloyd doesn't say anything, but with how pissed he is right now, he's pretty sure Kaneis can hear his teeth grinding. how could Cole think this way? how could he think that it's okay to just throw your life away for the sake of protecting others, even after his own son (his own son...!) came up with an alternative?

But why?! If Chris came up with something better, why the hell does he think throwing his life away like that is a better idea?! That's just stupid! [ he's aware that Kaneis probably doesn't have an answer to that; his rage-fueled questions are more rhetorical than anything. ]

I don't know. He started going on about how crappy his life and his ex was, like apparently that made it all okay or whatever. I had the video on, so I'm pretty sure it's on there if you wanna see all this crap.

[It pissed him off. He hated people who hurt others but played themselves as the victim. Or ones that can't admit that they screwed up]

[ he's quiet as Kaneis recounts what happened, though he's tense everywhere to the point of his hands shaking. so it sounded like he was trying to find an escape, just like him. dammit, he's not sure what to be mad at more.

he does his best to quell that anger though, rather than direct it at Kaneis. he should thank the messenger, not shoot them. ]

I'll... I'll check it out later. [ maybe. probably when there isn't steam coming out of his ears. as much as he'd love to give Cole an earful (and he will, mark his word), there is one person at the forefront of all this-- someone he can feel empathy for. ]

How's Chris doing?

He's...upset? He threw some magic around the cargo bay after Cole left, then eventually left himself.

Tried to...I dunno, make him feel better - or at least, you know, tell him it's okay to be upset and everything. But you know, comfort's not exactly my forte so I don't know how well it worked.

[ ah. he might have to go and make sure whatever Chris threw magic at wasn't too damaged, but he didn't blame him for doing that. no doubt Lloyd would have wanted to do that too. ]

I'm sure he appreciated it. It's fine if you were thinking about him to ask how he's doing. [ he is definitely adding Chris to the list of people he needs to talk with as well, though.
