"That's weird. If one sword has a power of 100, then using two will make it 200, right?" "...The snow bunny that Colette gave me. She protected me." "Oh. Is this all the Sorcerer's Ring does?" QUEST 1 - "THE BOG UNICORN" »pt. 2 - slaying the bog unicorn Lloyd began his search for the dryads early in the day, walking throughout the Greenwood for hours on end until it was almost nightfall. He managed to find some by the time the sun began to set and coaxed them out with kind words and the request from the Queen (after he accidentally scared them off, good job there, Irving). Under normal circumstances, they would have adhered to the Queens request, but they had concerns of their own that needed attention: A fell beast known as the Bog Unicorn had been terrorizing the forest, killing fauna and flora alike. The dryads offered Lloyd their help only if he slayed the Bog Unicorn for them. He agreed. When he began his search, night fell and it grew dark to the point where he was forced to summon his wings for a reliable light source. As he searched for any sign of the Bog Unicorn, he stumbled upon what's supposedly a natural clearing, filled with carnivorous plants and peculiar "fireflies" floating among the reeds. He began to investigate the clearing, which turned out to be a quaking bog, and he eventually stumbled upon the massive Bog Unicorn. Its slow movements and overall sad sight brought pity, and after a plea for help Lloyd believed to be from the "unicorn" (it was actually from the "fireflies"), he beheaded the Bog Unicorn with a quick and accurate Demon Fang. The "fireflies" - or rather, spores - were released from the horse and spread through the forest without Lloyd's knowing. Before leaving to find the dryads, Lloyd made a grave for the horse, using the sword that was lodged in its head as a marker. SUCCESS NOV. EVENT - "THE UPRISING DEAD" "The tulip mounds rot with the sunrise of the fifteenth day. From them rise up large spectral dogs with blank fiery eyes that roam the six realms and attack anyone with a shard. These, the monarchs will inform the realms, are the restless souls claimed by Black Shuck, cast out and damned until felled by the fearless; the trouble with slaying the hungry beasts lies in their ability to inspire ones greatest terrors to grip the heart. As a result, they are difficult to destroy. A royal command will be issued to all shard-holders, instructing them to fortify the castles and all those who are able to ride out and destroy the demonic dogs. Seelie and Unseelie alike will be granted a royal favour at the end of the month." »pt. 2 - slaying the dogs The moment he heard the request given out, Lloyd and Noishe set to work in collecting as many bones in the Caer Glaem area as possible; Lloyd was taught to always respect the dead, so there was no protest when the official decree was given out. He was given assistance by a couple of others who were also putting in effort to respect the dead until Flora joined in and became a permanent partner. With their combined efforts (with Flora doing most of the work thanks to her nature-based abilities), the trio were able to move a substantial amount of bones from the earth to the kingdom's crypt. This continued on for several days without incident until the 15, where shadows in the form of dogs began appearing across the Drabwurld. Lloyd and Flora were ambushed by a group of those dogs when they were about to do their collecting for the day. They quickly learned that the dogs were not entirely physical attackers, as they were able to tap into both of their minds and unveil their biggest fears: losing their loved ones in some way or form. As their fears were revealed at different instances — first Flora's then Lloyd's — they were able to help each other get a hold of their senses and finish off the dogs with only some injury. SUCCESS As reward for his efforts in collecting the bones and slaying the dogs, Lloyd was given Kratos's old locket, which contained a picture of baby Lloyd and his parents, as a way to speak to his deceased mother. QUEST 2 - "ECO-FRIENDLY WARRIORS" »pt. 2 - uniting with Flora »pt. 3 - fighting the beast During an unexpected meeting with Emil which turned into a belated gift exchange, Lloyd was approached by a messenger who sought Lloyd's and Emil's combined expertise with monsters. They were informed of the anti-shardbearer movements occurring throughout the Drabwurld, and how one group of them entrapped several dryads and a naiad in order to create a monster specifically for slaying shardbearers. Lloyd readily accepted the mission, remembering his relationship with the dryads due to his previous quest, and he and Emil both set out atop of the latter's pet fenrir, Topo. On the way there, the pair met up with Flora, who also sought out the beast. They invited her to team up in slaying the beast and freeing the trapped nymphs. PENDING | ||
