► BACKTAGGING: Y / N
► 4TH WALLING: Y / N
► CANON TRIGGERS: Violence, body horror, death, racism (not from Lloyd, however).
► KISSING: Y / N, Lloyd is all for platonic kisses. Romantic kisses, however, I'll have to request that they be saved if the character has the established CR with him.
► FIGHTING: Y / N, Lloyd's more of a pacifist than a fighter, but he's also not afraid to throw down if the need be.
► INJURY: Y / N, Lloyd's not afraid of getting roughed up. If it extends beyond something that would only need a couple of days before he's upright, please let me know ahead of time!
► THREADJACKING: Y / N
► TRIGGERS: Racism, human torture, human trafficking, slavery, abuse, injustice of any kind!
► HUGGING: Y / N, depending on how close he is to your character, he'll either question it or hug right back! He would never immediately push someone away.
► SEX: Y / N, Lloyd's not a one-night-stand kind of person, if any sex is to be had, it's only with close CR that makes sense.
► ROMANCE: Y / N, please! Lloyd would be an amazing boyfriend, and he doesn't discriminate between guy or girl (though he does have a preference for the latter).
► POWERS: Y / N, his best friends are a pseudo-angel that does holy magic and a preteen that lobs fireballs with a kendama. He is a-okay with powers.
► DEATH: Y / N, I'm only marking this as a "no" because I do not want him to spontaneously die. If he's going to die, we need to plot it beforehand and there needs to be an opportunity for him to be revived.

Two words as quoth by one Zelos Wilder: country bumpkin.
Lloyd stands at about 5'10, just barely shorter than Zelos if one were to look carefully and not pay attention to the mess of hair giving him the advantage. Although hilariously underweight at only 139 pounds (thank you, anime genetics), Lloyd is slim but fairly muscular, well-built thanks to the combination of sword-training, smithy training, and roughing it in the woods. He's definitely built for battle, though to say he's intimidating is a bit of a stretch when you take the rest of his appearance into consideration.
The clothes he usually wears, which were made by his adoptive father Dirk, are dwarven-style, which are meant to cover every inch of the body in order to protect one's self from avoidable hazards from their line of work, such as cuts and burns. Outwardly, they consist of loose black pants held up by a pair of leather suspenders, a red button-up coat with a high collar and trailing white ribbons behind the neck (think of something similar to a marching band member's coat), and matching strap-on thick gloves and boots. There is a hole deliberately cut on the back of his left glove, where his mother's Exsphere - a seemingly innocuous blue gem that is embedded into his skin - and Key Crest sit. On his hips are two belts, crossed over and each holding one of two swords that he's known to wield. With how concealing his clothes are, it's hard to gauge just how much muscle mass he has: one would have to strip him down to his underclothes, which consist of a black wife-beater and matching boxers, to properly see the fruits of his labor.
Genetically, it's not hard to see how he's his father's child. He has brown hair, inherited from his mother, that sticks up in a gravity-defying manner, though he favors in brushing it to his right. His eyes - which are reddish-brown, or russet - are wide and bright with an almost childlike-wonder, giving him a more youthful appearance true to his age. If his hair was styled right, it's possible that he could look almost exactly like a happy-go-lucky Kratos, albeit with smoother hair rather than the wiry mess Kratos seems to have. Underlying his genetics is another trait Lloyd seemed to "inherit" from his parents, though it's mainly from an outside source: they're hidden from view most of the time, but Lloyd bears the ability to summon a pair of massive greenish-blue bird-like mana wings, their individual wingspan about the length of one-and-a-half Lloyds. As gathered, they're fucking huge, larger than any other pair of mana wings that were seen thus far.
It's a shame, really: For someone who could potentially be really handsome, he has a shitty as all hell fashion sense (looks at his pirate costume).

If someone had to pick a single word that accurately encompassed everything that was Lloyd Irving, that word would be "simple".
That's it. He's just simple.
Having grown up in a quaint village that's a ways away from the rest of the world, Lloyd grew up with a fairly black-and-white mindset. It's not until he's metaphorically thrown into the lake before learning to swim where he realizes that the world is not quite as simple as his mindset is. While for others, a simplistic mindset could be considered ignorance and their ultimate undoing, for Lloyd, it's his biggest weapon and his saving grace.
One thing to note about Lloyd is that he's not very smart. In fact, he's plain book dumb. He does hold a surprising amount of logic, though the way he tends to take things literally has a tendency to skew his logic ("That's weird. If one sword has a power of 100, then using two will make it 200, right?"), but there's no denying that Lloyd still gets piss poor grades (though whether it's because of his lack of knowledge or because of such disinterest in learning that he goes so far as to falling asleep during punishment for falling asleep in class) and ends up as the butt of the joke more often than not. Several examples are spread out throughout the more lighthearted parts of the game: For example, in a test where the final score was 400, Lloyd ended up with the lowest score at 25. Another prime example would be when he properly used the word "avaricious", which is a bit above his pay grade when it comes to vocabulary-- it brought Raine to a point that's very similar to her "ruin mode", exciting her and scaring the bejeesus out of Lloyd, ruining what could have been a rather serious moment.
In combination with his stupidity, Lloyd can be qualified as a bona fide shonen hero since he's known to be rather emotive. Unlike most of the characters that are a part of his group, he doesn't hide behind a "mask" of emotions; He wears his heart on his sleeve and if he's feeling something, he'll display it with a fierceness that could set anyone back. If he's upset or angry at something, he will let you know. If he's happy or excited about traveling through a new area, he will annoyingly let you know. If he quickly grew bored of whatever he was excited about, he will (much to others' chagrin and annoyance) let you know. His emotive nature also lends to how he's a bit of a hothead and impulsive, which often leads him into trouble. If it weren't for the other characters holding him back as he was kicking and thrashing, it's very likely that Lloyd's impulsive nature would have led him to a premature death.
Even though he has his usual flare ups, what sets Lloyd apart from other hotheads is that he's not only able to acknowledge what he did or said and where he messed up, but genuinely apologize for it and learn from it so that he (probably) won't make the same mistake again. He may be harsh in some cases, but Lloyd is genuinely a good person through and through, and seeks nothing but the protection and wellbeing of his friends-- which can extend to more than just the party thanks to his "make-ALL-the-friends" attitude. Though he If he discovers something that's been ailing his friends too late, he's quick to blame himself for not catching onto it sooner. A prime example of this is Colette: The guilt that he feels for not noticing what the angelic transformation is actually doing to her eats away at him so much that he breaks down into tears.
He may have achieved feats that no ordinary person can, there's no denying that Lloyd is still human, both physically and mentally. He's dealt with blow after blow, falling many times and discovering that life is plain unfair. From being banished from Iselia, to discovering that Colette was slowly dying and Kratos turning on them at the Tower of Salvation, to discovering that very same traitor is also his biological father-- Lloyd has had his fair share of Heroic BSODs that could easily cause him to fall into despair just as Mithos had before him. The only difference between Lloyd and Mithos, as Kratos and Yuan pointed out, is that Mithos gave in and fell to despair whereas Lloyd always managed to pick himself back up regardless of how bad things looked, whether on his own or with the help of his friends, and always searched for another solution to a problem even if he had to make one himself. His stubbornness could count as one of his more endearing traits, as it was because of his stubbornness that he was able to sway Origin, who had lost all hope in humanity and refused to help them (THANKS, MITHOS), to help their cause.
As stated several times before, Lloyd is a very chummy guy. He's impressionable in a sense, but only through what he sees and not through word of mouth. He's able to see the good (or bad) in a person, even if it takes him a while to fully acknowledge it, and is usually quick to forgive or befriend someone even if they didn't have a good reason. When Raine and Genis are revealed to be part of the scorned half-elves rather than full-blooded elves, Lloyd thinks nothing of it-- to him, Raine is still his teacher and Genis is still his best friend. When Colette approached him about how her becoming an angel made her weird or how she technically had two fathers, Lloyd reassured her that no matter her lineage or what she became, she's still Colette Brunel to him. When Zelos "betrayed" the party in order to go behind enemy lines, Lloyd quickly welcomed him back into the party with open arms. Even Kratos, who had betrayed Lloyd's trust several times over, had earned Lloyd's forgiveness and mercy ("I defeated Kratos, the angel, the one who betrayed us. And I forgive Kratos, the hero of the Ancient War, who helped us."), who in turn chastised him for being "as soft-hearted as ever". At the same time, he holds regrets if he isn't able to help a friend of if he's too late in helping them: Zelos could also be an example of this if he does honestly betray the party, for Lloyd will regret never helping Zelos when he needed it so that he wouldn't have to resort to betrayal. Mithos also applies to this: after finally destroying his Cruxis Crystal, Lloyd laments at how they could have been great friends because they shared similar ideals.
All in all, Lloyd is just a teenager who loves his friends, hates tomatoes with a burning passion, is kind of really stupid, and has seen more than most kids his age, yet still wants nothing more than a world where everyone is accepting of each other. In Dawn of the New World he's wisened up a little from his abrasive attitude, though he seems to take a page from Kratos's book in turn and distances himself from his friends to work on a secret agenda that would benefit his loved ones, making him into something of a massive hypocrite. Delving further into this could shed some insight into why he's behaving like this in the first place — which, to put it simply, was to protect his comrades from a force that only he could handle without having his mind destroyed — but since he's yet to be given the big task that caused him to behave this way, one can probably assume that he's still more or less the same seventeen-year-old boy that contributed to the Journey of Regeneration, but a touch more mature.
Just a touch.

Lloyd was born in an undisclosed town to vagabond couple Kratos Aurion and Anna Irving, who were both currently on the run from the Desians. Anna, Lloyd's mother, was a valuable commodity to the Desians - Kvar, specifically - as she was the sole successful specimen for his Angelus Project, and had escaped some time before Lloyd's conception. The family was constantly tailed by the Desians, and there was not one place they could settle in for long before they had to pack up and move on. Despite the dangers, the family lived fairly normally as they moved from town to town, and Lloyd was treated with all the love and care his parents could provide and then some.
Everything changed when the Desians attacked.
It was a rainy day, and Lloyd was only three years old. The Aurion family had just made it to the outskirts of Iselia, where Kratos was hoping to establish a proper life for his family there as well as seek the aid of a dwarf living in the area to make a key crest for Anna's Exsphere. As they traversed through Iselia Forest, the family was cornered by the Desians, led by Grand Cardinal Kvar. Kratos and Noishe attempted to fight them off, but Kvar managed to eventually get his hands on Anna and forcefully removed her Exsphere. Without a Key Crest to neutralize the hazard of removing the stone, Anna's mana went out of control and she mutated into a monster, promptly attacking little Lloyd. Kratos had no choice but to run her through in order to protect his son, but failed regardless as Anna (along with her Exsphere), Lloyd, and Noishe all fell over a cliff to their assumed deaths.
Shortly after, a passing dwarf by the name of Dirk happened upon the three, and at the request of a dying Anna, took in Lloyd (who was unconscious and banged up, but very much alive) and Noishe to care for them, later collecting Anna's corpse to give her a proper burial. Dirk adopted Lloyd as his very own son, and raised him as though a dwarf would raise their own blood child by teaching him basic dwarven crafting techniques and drilling the Dwarven Vows into his head (by denying him dinner until he could successfully quote the vow of the day) until he memorized all 100+ of them. Eventually, Lloyd was permitted to attend school in the nearby village of Iselia, where he befriended Colette Brunel, the current Chosen of Regeneration, and Genis Sage, a knowledgeable elven boy and younger brother of Lloyd's teacher, Raine Sage. It was his friendship with Colette that would pave the road to his destiny.
On the eve of Colette's sixteenth birthday, the oracle had descended upon the Church of Martel, signaling Colette's start of her Journey of Regeneration. Lloyd, now seventeen, opted to accompany her and protect her, dragging Genis along in the process. When they arrived at the temple, they discovered that Desian-lookalikes had ravaged the temple, seeking out the Chosen, and promptly attacked the three kids without remorse. A passing mercenary happened upon the kids in time and they were able to drive back the "Desians" without any further loss. The mercenary introduced himself as Kratos shortly after discovering Lloyd's identity, and the four proceeded to venture into the temple where Colette received her Cruxis Crystal, the official marker as her role of a Chosen. After everyone parted ways (with Kratos accompanying Colette to discuss matters with the high priestess and the mayor of Iselia), Genis requested that he accompany Lloyd halfway through Iselia Forest to meet with a "friend", who turned out to be an elderly captive of the nearby Human Ranch by the name of Marble. The kids and woman were discovered as they conversed, and Lloyd attempted to distract the Desians in order to let Genis get away unseen, unworried about consequences as they had supposedly broken the peace treaty established by Iselia by attacking the temple.
After getting away, Lloyd sought the aid of his father, Dirk, to make a Key Crest for Marble's unprotected Exsphere, and it was then that Lloyd learned about his mother's death at the hands of the Desians. Colette and the others had come to visit him shortly after this discovery, and Lloyd offered her a promise to have her present done before she left for her journey the next day. He would never be able to deliver it to her then, as she purposefully left before they were scheduled to meet, and Genis would be the one to visit him instead to inform him of the attack on the village. The two were cornered by Desians in the village square, where they were forced to face off against a grotesque monster that was later discovered to be Marble, and the Desians retreat only when Marble gave her own life in order to protect Lloyd and Genis and badly wound the Grand Cardinal Forcystus. Pinning the blame of the village's losses on the kids (as the Desians had sought out Lloyd specifically for breaking the peace treaty), Lloyd and Genis were promptly banished from Iselia and were forced to try and catch up with Colette and her entourage.
Shortly after arriving in Triet, Lloyd and Genis were caught and captured by the Desian lookalikes, although the latter was released after a deceptive display. Lloyd was taken to an unfamiliar base as captive, where he later met with Yuan shortly before being rescued by Colette and her group, who Genis and Noishe sought out after he managed to get away. From then on, Lloyd and Genis joined Colette on the Journey of Regeneration, witnessing as she became more and more of an angel and protecting her from hazards along the way. As they traversed to unlock the seals, many events occurred, including Lloyd (and Kratos) getting his revenge on Kvar for Anna's murder, an assassin repeatedly attempting to slay Colette and then later joining the group, and the discovery of an Exsphere's true origins. Along the way, Lloyd noticed that the journey was not at all what it seemed to be and he watched helplessly as Colette becomes less human by losing her ability to sleep, taste, feel, and speak, all the while trying desperately to find an answer to fix her.
As their journey had drawn to a close, the assassin, Sheena Fujibayashi, revealed that she was not from Sylvarant but from a separate world in another dimension known as Tethe'alla. She confessed that the reason why she was sent to Sylvarant to assassinate Colette was to prevent the Journey of Regeneration from happening, because the flow of mana will take on an hourglass effect and flow into Sylvarant, allowing it to prosper while Tethe'alla loses mana and goes into decline. The group agreed to attempt to reason with Cruxis and find a way for both worlds to prosper while sparing Colette from further pain. As the day they were to release the final seal in the Tower of Salvation finally arrived, Lloyd discovered that Colette and Kratos were missing, having already gone ahead to release the seal. The group made their way to the tower and discovered the process of Colette becoming an angel meant she must give up her heart and memories at the very last seal, essentially dying.
Obviously, Lloyd was having none of that shit.
The group fought Cruxis in an attempt to get Colette back, including a traitorous Kratos, and were on the verge of a bloody defeat at the hands of Yggdrasill when the Desian lookalikes arrived just in time and helped the group to retreat, taking an unresponsive Colette along with them. After getting a rundown of the situation from Yuan, who revealed himself to be the leader of the Desian lookalikes AKA the Renegades, Lloyd decided to venture to Tethe'alla after Sheena revealed the scientists there were doing research on Cruxis Crystals. The group split from Sheena (who had her own matters to take care of) and met with the king of Tethe'alla in the capital of Meltokio in order to gain his favor, and he eventually agreed on the condition that Tethe'alla's Chosen, Zelos Wilder, accompanied them as well. The group - including Presea Combatir, a young lumberjack with few words - ventured on to Sybak, where they would discover that a Cruxis Crystal was nothing more than an advanced Exsphere and that all Colette would need was a Key Crest in order to return normal. Lloyd managed to fashion a working Key Crest out of an old one found in the bazaar and attached it to Colette's birthday present-- it would be when the group returns to the Fooji Mountains to retrieve the rheiards they took (and get attacked by Cruxis) before Colette would be restored to her normal self, hungry for the first time in days.
With Colette back to normal, Lloyd and the group resumed to their original plan to restore the worlds to what they once were. Taking position of leader, he led the group around Tethe'alla and Sylvarant (recruiting convict Regal, who was trying to go after Colette much like how Sheena was, and befriending Mithos, a young half-elf boy), to release the mana seals by having Sheena form pacts with their respective summon spirits after discovering a mana link had been severed after she formed a pact with Undine and Volt, who are opposites of each other. The Renegades joined up with them after they discovered their plan, and the group was constantly told to stop their progress by Kratos, and eventually all of the seals were broken. With no seals to hold it, the Great Seed germinated and grew out of control, destroying Palmacosta and a couple of Sylvarant's temples; Lloyd was able to come up with a plan of stopping its rampage by using the Summon Spirits of Tethe'alla to power a Mana Cannon and blasting it, neutralizing the mana flowing within it.
During this process, Colette contracted the rare disease Chronic Angelus Crystallis Inofficium, and Lloyd put the group's plans on restoring the worlds on hold to search for a cure. They traveled around Tethe'alla to gather materials, their last stop being behind enemy lines on Derris-Kharlan. After escaping from their prisons, the group managed to get the final object needed for the cure, and they were able to heal Colette of her disease. The group decided to recuperate at the house of the Tethe'allan dwarf that helped create Colette's cure, Altessa, and rest for the night. As they rested, Lloyd was visited by Yuan and told to come outside to "meet his father". He does so and is held hostage by the Renegades with Kratos watching a ways away; it's at this point that Yuan revealed Kratos's true relations to Lloyd as his birth father. Lloyd took it none too lightly, going berserk and repeatedly rejecting Kratos as his father, and suffered from a mental breakdown when Kratos took a blow from Yuan that was meant for Lloyd.
After being discovered by Mithos, who was revealed to be the Cruxis leader Yggdrasill, the group flies over to Flanoir to retrieve a doctor for Altessa, who was attacked by Mithos. There, Lloyd talked with Colette and he slowly began to accept the traitor Kratos as his flesh and blood, as well as finalize the plan to defeat Yggdrasill once and for all and retrieve the Eternal Sword: their last hope in restoring the worlds. Once the group arrived at the Tower of Salvation a second time, things began to go downhill beginning with Zelos's "betrayal" by handing Colette over to Cruxis. By the time Lloyd reached Yggdrasill, he was alone, with everyone else in the party having sacrificed themselves so that he may continue. Just as things took a turn for the worst, Zelos arrives with everyone else that had stayed behind, revealing that he had gone behind enemy lines in order to get Lloyd a crucial element to allow him to wield the Eternal Sword and that he had been betraying them by holding back his true strength. With everyone together, they manage to defeat Pronyma and Yggdrasill, rescue Colette, and form a pact with Origin so that Lloyd can wield the Eternal Sword.
In order to do that, however, the group would need to release Origin's seal, which is based on Kratos's mana-- and should he release it, it could potentially kill him. After discussing things with Colette once more, Lloyd and company goes to confront Kratos the following day, and Lloyd fights Kratos alone, defeating him. Afterwards, Kratos released the seal against Lloyd's word but survived when Yuan arrived and transferred some of his mana into Kratos. Sheena successfully formed the pact with Origin and the group returned to Derris-Kharlan to retrieve the Eternal Sword, fighting Mithos a final time and permanently ending his life. Lloyd used the Eternal Sword to return the worlds to their former state as Aselia, and also to germinate the Great Seed to grow a new World Tree. Under Mithos's influence, Lloyd's Exsphere mutates into a Cruxis Crystal and he sprouted large wings so that he may retrieve the seed before it was lost on Derris-Kharlan.
With the Summon Spirit Martel now governing the growth of the new World Tree, she asked Lloyd to give a name to the sapling. In honor of Mithos and his sister Martel, he names it Yggdrasill.
Not all is well within the new world of Aselia, however. Due to the cultural differences between Sylvarant and Tethe'alla, strife arose between the two countries, and they begun to be persecuted with the same fierceness many humans bear against half-elves. As his friends created their own individual agendas to attempt to establish peace between the worlds, Lloyd and Colette traveled the world in order to collect as many Exsphere as they can find, so that they may eventually be destroyed and never used again. During their travels, Lloyd discovered that the very balance of nature was also thrown into chaos, with snow appearing in the Triet Desert and lakes drying up everywhere, to name a few instances. He made plans to see Martel in order to get to the bottom of what was happening... but before he could set off, he was somehow pulled far away from Aselia and enrolled in some weird school for wizards.
Thanks a lot, guys. Perfect timing there, really.

ANGEL TOXICOSIS.
A disease by which the term was officially coined by Professor Raine Sage, it is the event in the Angel Transformation — separated into five instances — where an angel transitions from one stage to another. An angel's process through the Transformation usually involves one element: adrenaline, which is defined ingame as "pain and suffering, along with constant battle", and it usually takes 2-3 months per stage before a Transformation is completed if unaffected, lasting around a year. While the triggering of Angel Toxicosis can grant further strength to a developing angel, the Toxicosis itself is incredibly painful and can result in semi-permanent ailments, depending on what stage the Transformation had occurred. Symptoms include severely high fever (105°+ F/40°+ C), weakness, pallid skin, and severe pain lasting up to 8-12 hours. There is no cure for Angel Toxicosis and the only thing that can properly counteract it is a Key Crest (or a Rune Crest if the crystal bearer is not properly compatible with the Cruxis Crystal).
Theoretically, as Lloyd already has a fully functioning Key Crest, he should be completely healthy and not suffer from the adverse effects of the Transformation. However, as he is nothing more than a fledgling angel and the game has demonstrated that a Key Crest takes some time for it to counteract the Toxicosis effects, it is possible that an outside interference can be the source of his suffering. This interference could include, but is not entirely limited to, a sudden surge of foreign mana that is now housed within his body and conflicting with the effects of the Exsphere and Key Crest…
⇢ ☑ STAGE 1 - Gains wings, "Angel Feathers" learned, hearing improves (able to hear faint sounds from long distances).
PRICE: Metabolism (cannot eat or taste) (Duration: 3 days, less severe case is permanent)
⇢ ☐ STAGE 2 - Sight improves.
PRICE: Rest (cannot sleep) (Duration: 4 days, less severe case is permanent)
⇢ ☐ STAGE 3 - "Holy Song" learned, strength improves (able to lift 100+ lbs. with one hand and little effort), tolerance to pain improves.
PRICE: Touch (cannot feel or cry) (Duration: ???)
⇢ ☐ STAGE 4 - "Sacrifice" learned, no longer need to breathe .
PRICE: Voice (Duration: ???)
⇢ ☐ STAGE 5 - "Judgment" (and possibly "Grand Cross") learned, immortality kicks in.
PRICE: "Heart and Memories" (Duration: ???)
In this final stage, the angel essentially becomes a walking doll. They will be unresponsive to anything and will mainly function on "autopilot", where they will attack if they feel as though they are being threatened.
